A Little Progress Everyday

Tonight I was thinking back on my teens as my formative years and then immediately had the thought that every year forms me. There isn’t a moment of my Life that hasn’t impacted my development and there never will be. Everything matters. Everything we do or don’t.

I started adding gills to my mushroom! In the past two days of painting it I have been listening to The Modern Hippie Podcast. Barrett hosts some pretty cool conversations from what I’ve heard so far and that’s more than likely what will be playing tomorrow as I push myself to complete this piece.

@AnimysticHolistics helped me identify this species as Mycena Haematopus. I’m so appreciative of his knowledge and willingness to answer my questions around mushrooms. I don’t know who else I would turn to. The original photo I took on 22 October 2021 behind my parents house when photographing every fungus I could find.

I have a two day trip coming up and would really like to wrap up this project before traveling. There’s no way I could bring it with me. Somehow I will find a way to paint on the road. I’ve usually avoided even trying to do so because it is a challenge to transport my art but maybe if I downscale it will be easier than I’m imagining.
